Trapped in Indianapolis during a freak snowstorm while on tour, the group decided to put down roots there. "It was just like Sweden until the snow melted," says Ilsa. "But by then we all had settled in. We were living in a big farmhouse at the time and the whole recording process was very Dylanesque."

Not much had been heard from Randys Wallet for several years. After their highly publicized move to New Orleans for creative inspiration failed (Karlsson spent a little too much time in the French Quarter), the band retreated to a St. Louis studio in 1997. After several unproductive months, during which time drummer Amahay auditioned for the Smashing Pumpkins, there were reports of several new songs in the works. "There's nothing actually on tape yet," said Ilsa at the time. "We know that there have been several occasions when we start writing songs and nothing comes of it. This time we hope it works out differently."

Unfortunately, it didn't. Although a few rough demos did emerge for pre-production analysis, including Skyboat, Shakin' the Bones and the cryptically symbol-named "Woman", nothing was ever taken to a state of completion. In December of 1999 the discouraged group moved back to Indiana again. Living off of Karlsson's inheritance (his parents built the largest reindeer cheese processing plant in northern Sweden) the original members of Randys Wallet finally made the serious effort to record their long awaited full-length album. Released in 2006 and containing nine new tracks and an outstanding live rendition of their classic "Poetry for the Blind" this was the album everyone had been waiting for.

Laughs Marty Epstein of Rolling Stone, "This was the most anticipated album release since Guns N Roses' "Chinese Democracy!"

With the new album, Randys Wallet hopes to make headway with American listeners. "The last record was huge in the Balkans," says producer KJ Tomas. "We hope to see some of that attention here in the States this time."
